A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness. 37 The sun, too, follows its determined course laid down for it by the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship. 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 Unless by Our benevolence, to reap advantage for a time. 44 And [yet,] when they are told, "Beware of [God's insight into] all that lies open before you and all that is hidden from you, so that you might be graced with His mercy," [most men choose to remain deaf;] 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: 'Spend of that which Allah has given you' the unbelievers say to the believers: 'Are we to feed those whom Allah can feed if He chooses? Surely, you are only in clear error' 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50
