A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 That they may enjoy the fruits of this (artistry): It was not their hands that made this: will they not then give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him, who created all the pairs of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they know not. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs its course for its final destination; this is a command of the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 and [in] the moon, for which We have determined phases [which it must traverse] till it becomes like an old date-stalk, dried-up and curved: 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And a sign for them is that We lodged them in a laden ship, while they were in their forefathers backs. 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 And if We list, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout for them, nor will they be saved. 43 It is only Our Mercy (that rescues them) and enables enjoyment of life for a while. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 And whenever a sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, they always turn away from it! 46 And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they add, "When is this promise [of resurrection] to be fulfilled? [Answer this] if you are men of truth!" 48 They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing. 49 Then they will not be able to make a will or return to their families. 50

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
