And a sign for them is the dead land, that We quickened and brought forth from it grain, whereof they eat; 33 We have placed in it gardens of date palms and vines, and caused springs to gush [forth] from it, 34 so that they may consume the fruits and whatever their hands prepare. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 Of the signs for them is how We separated the day from the night and thus they remained in darkness; 37 And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And a token unto them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship, 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 Unless by mercy from Us, and as a comfort for a while. 44 But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... " 45 yet never any sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them, but they are turning away from it. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
