Let the dead earth be a Sign for them. We gave it life and produced from it grain whereof they eat. 33 And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it, 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 Glory to Allah, Who created in pairs all things that the earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind and (other) things of which they have no knowledge. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 The sun, too, follows its determined course laid down for it by the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 We have appointed stages for the moon till it returns in the shape of a dry old branch of palm-tree. 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 Another Sign for them is that We carried all their offspring in the laden vessel 41 and created for them similar things to ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 except Our mercy which could enable them to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 44 When it is said unto them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy (they are heedless). 45 and whenever a revelation out of their Lord's revelations comes to them, they ignore it. 46 And when it is said to them: "Spend of that with which Allah has provided you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He (Himself) would have fed? You are only in a plain error." 47 And they say: "When will this promise (i.e. Resurrection) be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
