A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 and produced therein grains from which they eat and established therein gardens of palms trees and vineyards and have made streams flow therein 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof; and their hands worked it not. Will they not, therefore, give thanks? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 We have ordained phases for the moon until finally it becomes like an old date-stalk. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship. 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 It is only by Our mercy that they are granted provision for a time. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 Indeed, not one of your Lord's signs comes to them without their turning away from it, 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 [And they are unaware that] nothing awaits them beyond a single blast [of God's punishment,] which will overtake them while they are still arguing - [against resurrection]: 49 Then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen. 50
