And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And We place therein gardens of the date-palms and vines; and We therein cause to gush forth springs. 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 They have a sign in the night: We withdraw from it the [light of] day -- and they are left in darkness. 37 The sun, too, follows its determined course laid down for it by the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them; 41 And We have created for them similar ships, in which they now ride. 42 Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them 43 Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 and whenever a revelation out of their Lord's revelations comes to them, they ignore it. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another. 49 Then they will not be able to make a will or return to their families. 50
