And a sign for them is the dead land, that We quickened and brought forth from it grain, whereof they eat; 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 All glory belongs to the One Who has created pairs out of what grow from the earth, out of their soul and out of that which they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And a sign unto them is that We bear their offspring in a laden ship. 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 Should We so wish, We can drown them, and there will be none to heed their cries of distress, nor will they be rescued. 43 It is only by Our mercy that they are granted provision for a time. 44 And when it is said to them, “Beware of what is before you and what is behind you, in the hope of your gaining mercy”, they turn away! 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when it is said to them: 'Spend of that which Allah has given you' the unbelievers say to the believers: 'Are we to feed those whom Allah can feed if He chooses? Surely, you are only in clear error' 47 They say, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people. 50
