And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 that they might eat of its fruits. It was not their hands that made them. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him), the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing. 38 And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk. 39 [and] neither may the sun overtake the moon, nor can the night usurp the time of day, since all of them float through space [in accordance with Our laws]. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time. 44 When it is said unto them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy (they are heedless). 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 and when they are told, "Give to others out of what God has provided for you," those who are bent on denying the truth say to the believers, "Why should we feed those whom God could feed if He wanted? You are clearly in error!" 47 They also say: 'When will this promise be, if what you say is true' 48 They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another. 49 Then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen. 50
