There is a sign in the dead earth for them which We quicken, and produce from it grain which they eat. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 so that they may eat of the fruit thereof, though it was not their hands that made it. Will they not, then, be grateful? 35 All glory belongs to the One Who has created pairs out of what grow from the earth, out of their soul and out of that which they do not know. 36 A sign for them is the night. From it We withdraw the day and they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth to its appointed term: that is the disposition of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 We have ordained phases for the moon until finally it becomes like an old date-stalk. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 If it were Our Will, We could drown them: then would there be no helper (to hear their cry), nor could they be delivered, 43 unless it be a mercy from us, and as an enjoyment for a season. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 and no message of their Sustainer's messages ever reaches them without their turning away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” 48 They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing. 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50
