And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 We made in it gardens of date-palms and vines, and We caused springs to gush forth 34 That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him, Who has created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as of their own (human) kind (male and female), and of that which they know not. 36 And a sign unto them is the night. We draw off the day therefrom, and lo! they are darkened. 37 And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing. 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their seed in the laden ship, 41 and created for them similar things to ride. 42 and if We will, We drown them, then none have they to cry to, neither are they delivered, 43 Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while. 44 When it is said to them: "Beware of what is before you and what is past, that you may be treated with kindness;" 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when it is said to them, 'Expend of that God has provided you,' the unbelievers say to the believers, 'What, shall we feed such a one whom, if God willed, He would feed? You are only in manifest error!' 47 They say: “When will this threat (of Resurrection) come to pass? Tell us if indeed you are truthful.” 48 They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes. 49 and so [sudden will be their end that] no testament will they be able to make, - nor to their own people will they return! 50
