A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. 33 And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs - 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created all the sexual pairs, of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves, and of that which they know not! 36 And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. 37 And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing. 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them 43 But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 They also say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak truly?' 48 They wait not for aught but a single cry which will overtake them while they yet contend with one another. 49 They will have no time to make a will, nor shall they return to their own people. 50
