A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 And the night is another Sign for them. We strip the day from it and they become plunged in darkness. 37 And the sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him), the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 The sun cannot overtake the moon, nor can the night outpace the day: each floats in [its own] orbit. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto, so on them they ride. 42 If it were Our Will, We could drown them: then would there be no helper (to hear their cry), nor could they be delivered, 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 And when it is said to them, “Beware of what is before you and what is behind you, in the hope of your gaining mercy”, they turn away! 45 Indeed, not one of your Lord's signs comes to them without their turning away from it, 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 They await not but one shout, which shall lay hold of them while they are yet wrangling. 49 and so [sudden will be their end that] no testament will they be able to make, - nor to their own people will they return! 50
