And the trumpet is blown and lo! from the graves they hie unto their Lord, 51 "Woe betide us!" they will say, "Who has roused us from our sleep?" This is what the Lord of Mercy promised: the messengers spoke the truth! 52 It shall be but one shout; and lo! they shall all be brought together before Us. 53 No soul will be wronged the least that Day, nor would be recompensed but only for what it had done. 54 Verily the Companions of the Garden shall that Day have joy in all that they do; 55 They and their wives shall be in shades, reclining on raised couches. 56 They shall have fruits therein, and they shall have whatever they desire. 57 "Peace!" shall be the greeting from the Merciful Lord. 58 (The Lord will command), "Criminals, stand away from the others on this day." 59 ۞ Children of Adam, did I not command you not to serve Satan -- he is to you an open enemy 60 and that you should worship Me [alone]? This would have been a straight way! 61 "But he did lead astray a great multitude of you. Did ye not, then, understand? 62 "This is the Hell of which ye were (repeatedly) warned! 63 "Embrace ye the (fire) this Day, for that ye (persistently) rejected (Truth)." 64 This Day, We shall seal up their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their legs will bear witness to what they used to earn. (It is said that one's left thigh will be the first to bear the witness). [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 22, Page 24] 65 NOW HAD IT BEEN Our will [that men should not be able to discern between right and wrong,] We could surely have deprived them of their sight, so that they would stray forever from the [right] way: for how could they have had insight [into what is true]? 66 And if it had been Our Will, We could have transformed them (into animals or lifeless objects) in their places.
