But [let them always remember that] if We lengthen a human being's days, We also cause him to decline in his powers [when he grows old]: will they not, then, use their reason? 68 And We have not taught him poetry, nor it befitteth him. This is but an admonition and a Recital luminous: 69 to the end that it may warn everyone who is alive [of heart,] and that the word [of God] may bear witness against all who deny the truth. 70 Are they, then, not aware that it is for them that We have created, among all the things which Our hands have wrought, the domestic animals of which they are [now] masters? 71 We have subdued them to them, and some of them they ride, and some they eat; 72 some for milk to drink and some from which other benefits may be received? Will they not be grateful? 73 Yet they take (for worship) gods other than Allah, (hoping) that they might be helped! 74 They (the appointed Gods) cannot help them; and they and their armies will come (to Us), as captives. 75 Let not their speech, then, grieve thee. Verily We know what they hide as well as what they disclose. 76 Does man not see that We created him of a sperm drop, and lo! he is flagrantly contentious? 77 producing arguments against Us, and forgetting his own creation. He asks, "Who can give life back to bones after they have rotted away?" 78 Say thou: He shall quicken them Who brought them forth for the first time, and He is of every kind of creation the Knower! 79 who has made for you out of the green tree fire and lo, from it you kindle.' 80 Is He who created the heavens and the earth unable to create their like? Yes, indeed, He is the Creator, the Knower. 81 His command, when He desires a thing, is to say to it 'Be,' and it is. 82 Therefore Purity is to Him in Whose Hand* is the control over all things and it is towards Him that you will be returned. (Used as a metaphor to mean Power). 83
