The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 Then those who drive away with reproof, 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 Verily your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 And also our forefathers? 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
