The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [angels] lined up in rows 1 and the drivers driving, 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 surely your God is One, 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule, 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 And they say: Lo! this is mere magic; 15 "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say, "You will certainly be brought back to life in disgrace". 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
