The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 By the angels reciting the praise. 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the speech of those on higher elevations and they are targeted from every side. 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 Nay, you (O Muhammad SAW) wondered (at their insolence) while they mock (at you and at the Quran). 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 And our forefathers? 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 And say: "Ah woe! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 “This is the Day of Judgement, which you used to deny!” 21
