The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] lined up in rows 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 Verily your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 And when they see an Ayah (a sign, a proof, or an evidence) from Allah, they mock at it. 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!" 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
