The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 and the scarers scaring 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets; 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 They cannot listen to the speech of those on higher elevations and they are targeted from every side. 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 (Muhammad), ask them, "Have they (people) been created stronger than what We have created?" We have created them from moist clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
