The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 saying, "This is plain sorcery!" 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 And our forefathers? 17 Say: Aye! and you shall be abject. 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 [They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
