The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 surely your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 and to preserve against every rebel Satan; 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 Except one who sometimes steals a part, so a blazing flame goes after him. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Yes, and you shall then be humiliated." 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 They will say, "Woe to us! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
