The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the rangers ranging 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 And when they are warned they pay no heed. 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching 19 They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!" 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
