The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 and the reciters of a Remembrance, 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 Protecting them against every wayward devil, 7 They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side. 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 And when they are warned they pay no heed. 13 And when they see a sign, they ridicule 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
