In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 Then those who drive away with reproof, 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 surely, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty). 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 and, when reminded, do not remember 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
