The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those who range themselves in rows; 1 And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 surely, your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 they listen not to the High Council, for they are pelted from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
