The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 and to preserve against every rebel Satan; 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 “And also our forefathers?” 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
