The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who set the ranks in battle order 1 and the scarers scaring 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 surely, your God is One, 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we (then) verily be resurrected? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
