The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 By the angels driving away. 2 and the reciters of a Remembrance, 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 And they do not understand, when explained to. 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. 21
