The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 surely your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. 14 And they say: Lo! this is mere magic; 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
