The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Verily, verily, your Allah is one!- 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And to guard against every rebellious devil. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 And when they are reminded, they remember not. 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic! 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 'This is the Day of Decision, even that you cried lies to. 21
