The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 Most surely your Allah is One: 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. 21
