The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Yes, and you shall then be humiliated." 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
