The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 they listen not to the High Council, for they are pelted from every side, 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 Except one who sometimes steals a part, so a blazing flame goes after him. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we (then) verily be resurrected? 16 And our forefathers? 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
