The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 and the scarers scaring 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 surely, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between them; Lord of the Easts. 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 Save him who snatcheth a fragment, and there pursueth him a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 (Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.' 18 There will be but a single blast and then their eyes will open. 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. 21
