1/2 Hizb 45

۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Then, are we not to die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this, then, let them labour, those who labour [in God's way]! 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
