1/2 Hizb 45
< random >
۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 “And stop them they are to be questioned.” 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 What then, shall we not die 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
