۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
