۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 on couches facing each other. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
