۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
