۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 “Instead of Allah and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 Are we not then to die 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
