۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
