۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
