۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 There will neither be any harm in it for their body nor will it intoxicate their mind. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 What then, shall we not die 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
