۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
