۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
