۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
