1/2 Hizb 45

۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 What then, shall we not die 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
