۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 Are we then not to die 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
