۞ [And God will thus command:] "Assemble all those who were bent on evildoing, together with others of their ilk and [with] all that they were wont to worship 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
