۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Then, are we not to die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
